in Hongkong

i was not able to work in Hongkong, just stayed in their flat and help my cousin's wife take care of their only love child.

stayed their for two months, since my papers was not approved to stay their longer. i went home to my place in the philippines.

i was twenty four years old.

2nd job

my cousin who is my best friend with same age as mine, was first employed by my cousin. when she is already preparing to go there and work, i gave her an informal application letter to be hand in personally to our cousin.

when my cousin receive my application, asked who my father is, then he instructed one of his people to look for me and let me apply formally in his office. without so much problem, i initiated preparing my documents for my passport and visa. in short i work there for six months, since the Indonesian government gave me only six months to work there. we applied for an extension but, it was not granted so my cousin decided to send me to Hongkong where one of his business is located there.

my first job

with more than one month of patience i got job, it is not so compensating but the most important during that time is to have a job no matter what.

i was hired as a secretary in one of the hauling company. the nature of business is hard to understand first but as the days goes on i have familiarize the nature of it.

we are the private haulers of various oil companies in the country. since they don't have enough vehicle to haul orders from distant customer, there they hired a private hauler.

i work for at least one year. and later i applied for a work outside the country tho the owner is a relative of ours, still i applied because i am qualified for the work.

i was twenty three years old.

fourth year college

i was so excited to graduate in college with a degree of bachelor of science major in accounting.

after graduation, i spent the first month looking for a job. i must have one to help my parents in our daily needs. i have so many plans in mind to buy for my parents so that i can make them happy and relieve them from working so hard for us to live and me to finished my college. i used the money that one of my brother gave me for my diploma. i did not order a diploma instead i used it as transportation in hunting for a job. with God's help i got one.

i am 22 yrs old already when i graduated in college.

3rd year college

as planned i transfered to the other school, it is the school that helps the poor achieve each goal, because the tuition they are charging the student is so minimal compared to other school where they really is charging high.

i continued my course in commerce, there i no longer is included in the dean's list. my teacher from previous school who also become my teacher in the school where i transfered told me, maybe you are thinking of something else since your grade are no longer satisfactory. i was so ashamed but no matter how i studied, still my grades won't go up.oh! i forgot, i am already a par time working student, where going to school is so tiresome, specially that i belong to a night-shift student, because i am helping my auntie in her store from 7am to 4am, then i have to attend classes after that and went home nine o'clock in the evening.

this pattern go on till i graduated. i need to work to help my parents in my school needs.

2nd year college

still on the same school, this time i shifted from education to commerce, because this is the first time the school introduced this course and this is the course i like even from the very start, only it was not offered in this school where i really would like to study.

only few of us took the course, and there is a plan to abolish it since only few enrolled, the school notify us of the plan.

i told my parents that maybe next year if i could still continue my studies, i have to transfer from the school where the course i am taking is offered up to the time a student will graduate.

1st year college

i enrolled at one of the exclusive school for female in cagayan de oro city, where i said earlier my family is going to transfer after my graduation in high school.

even we are poor, my father was given a post from the business of my cousin who is a multi-millionaire they say, coz i still couldn't imagine how well-to-do he is, i just know he has a big house, cars and a logging area in davao city.

coming from a co-ed school in davao, i felt different at first but later on, i felt comfortable having only girls in our school.

i took up bachelor of science in elementary education, during that time there are many graduates of that course, so we were given entrance examination for that course only aside from an entrance examination to enroll in that school. i passed and met the requirement for that course. we were only nineteen who were able to make it.

i was surprised when i am one of the dean's list, tho only on the 3rd rank. our names were posted in the bulletin board and go to stage to received our certificate of honors. well it feels so elating, but even then i have to always stick my feet on the ground.

i am a dean's lister? it feels so good....hmmmm.

4rth year high school

here i'm a bit lonely because, we are going to miss our classmates for two years, that is since 3rd year.

one thing more we and my family, transfered once again to Cagayan de Oro City, northern part of Mindanao. naturally i have to meet new classmates again that is, if i can continue with my studies. my parents are poor, that going to college seems impossible during that time.

my father was so lucky to have given a post as a guard in my cousin's business. so i was able to continue my studies in college.

i thank God the Almighty for this since this is My Dream Come True.

3rd year high school

i transferred again to Mindanao colleges now University of Mindanao. i didn't make any mark on this year just an average one, imagine during one of our periodical examination we did not study instead me and my cousins played cards the whole night. but to my surprise i was able to answer my exams but not a satisfactory one. i said to myself or ask, why didn't i flanked the exam when i did not touched my notes at that time. but i am also scared because if i don't passed it would be a big problem. thanks God it did not happened, and i tried not to do it again.

what a lesson huh?

second year high school

i transferred from father Urious academy to St. Mary's high school in Panabo Davao city. there i met new classmates and i belong to 2nd section, transferee are always in this section.

after our first grading, i wonder why section one students went to our room and ask for me, when i look at them i don't know them. then during our religion subject our teacher a nun of the school told the first section of my score and i know that i was the one who got the highest score, higher than the section one.

still an innocent one i think... but i came to realized that if i study hard in my school works i really could be one of the highest in class but sometimes i am lazy no doubt of that......:)

first year high school

our barrio was far from the capital of the province which is Butuan city, the new graduates were so lucky because, one of the school put up a branch in our place. we used to have up to grade six only but during that time first year high school was opened by Father Urious Academy.

i have my first year high school in Father Urious Academy run by priest, i just can remember which order they belong. it run smoothly, we were just i think twenty to twenty five students, our building is still under construction, the whole of it. they just finished two rooms since there were only two years, the first and second year that was initially opened for that year.i was not able to achieve an award, i belong to the quite type of student, or shall i say a bit shy since our classmates are different from our elementary classmates.

i joined the soft ball team, i was in the right short staff where the ball usually goes when batted. it accidentally hit my right check that left a violet color that means it was hit by something heavy or forceful one. my mother ask me what it was, surely i didn't tell her the truth since i think she might not let me joined the game.

at fiesta time, i was also selected as a member of the majorette but we don't use short skirt since we are in the barrio and a bit old fashioned, so our skirt are below the knee.

this is one event during my first year in high school

Grade VI

i graduated my elementary education at Trento Elementary School, a barrio of Bunawan, Agusan.

i could not remember much any event, but one thing i remember is, when our final examination (6th grading) came, i wonder why my adviser, ask me and my best friend Rosie to make questions for our final examination. We were the one making and did the writings of questions on the board. we check the papers, totaled the final grades. i was not able to catch the meaning of it because we did not take the exam and then we have final grades the two of us. i jokingly ask myself, are we teachers already? what an ambition. ha ha ha.

i received a first honorable mention award. participated in three numbers during the commencement exercise.

i was twelve years old then, still don't know much of life.

I have had a quite experience during this year of my studies. My teacher taught us how to make "puso" that is to clarify for those who have no knowledge, the art of cooking rice thru the used of young coconut leaves then cook and commonly sold or are serve especially during school activities.

our teacher trained us declamation as one of the contestants, but was not able to passed and my best friend was the one who qualified.

i also became the head of our Brownie Group (Girl Scout when older), well, i remember i was not able to win any game ho ho ho ho....

i was 10 yrs old

Grade 111

i don't have any remarkable memory during my 3rd grade, just a simple and shy pupil listening to our teacher.

grade 11

i can't remember many things, but the memorable one was, when i tried to hide the lunch pack of my classmate. it was packed in banana leaves and was scattered on the floor, my classmate cried and my teacher was tho not so angry but reprimanded me to do such thing again. i was so sorry for my intention was just to tease her and accidentally it falls down on the floor.

i was not able to received any recognition, as to my performance in school during my second grade in the primary.

i was eight yrs old then.

my awareness

i use to go with my mother wherever she goes, i even cry if she disappeared without my knowledge where she have gone. that is why my relatives sometimes hide my mother from the rolled mat teasing me, so i will cry. Oh am so scared when my mother is not around, as if i can't go on living without her by my side.

i attended school, 1st grade or grade one at Gumalang Elementary school in Gumalang, Calinan, Davao City. there my only memory is when the teacher ask me to read the alphabets, i can read and even raised my hand if she asked questions and i know the answer. to my surprised at the end of the school year i received the 3rd honor ribbon. I wonder and recollect the moment if i am really that good to received such "ribbon" or honor. still i can't believe it and say oh it's just so easy, you just listen to the teacher when you are having class then you can answer her if asked about the lesson.

i ask myself am i one of the good pupil in my class? not bragging to myself but maybe....:) this is what i really think of myself, but have to tell also myself not to be boastful to anyone that i am that.....a little bit good in class... ho ho ho.

so i am seven years old now :)

my birthday

i was born in the year 1950,month of august, day is 20, but in my birth certificate the date given is on the 21st of august , the reason because, my mother told me, that , we were living in a barrio where going to the city or the nearest municipal hall is not so often, they have registered me after a month , where if they will use my exact birthday they will be fined. that is why my birth date in paper is every 21st of august, but i am celebrating it on the 20th. my children are even confused as to what is my correct birthday due to this, even myself when i went abroad, my disembarkation papers have always an erasure due to confusion.

so i am still one (1) month old :)
